Off-topic to LMMS, but I'll bite.
1. Export the LMMS track to OGG or WAV
2. Import this OGG or WAVE as a track in Audacity
3. Click record to overlay the input/mic/etc recording directly into
Audacity.
4. Repeat until you have the recording you need, muting the bad takes
This is track recording 101 and although many sequencers have the
capability built-in LMMS does not.
Why not? Well, first, LMMS is not a multi-track application, so it was
never part of the design. It's a nice feature to have in a sequencer, but
it's not there yet and the existing functionality has many (many, many)
issues.
Direct-recording simply won't be ready for some time. We invite people to
jump in but regardless of anyone's definition of "urgency" or "complete
shape", this isn't a trivial task and it won't happen for 1.2 and probably
not for the next release unless we get someone that has enough time to
implement it.
Just to give an idea of complexity, our lead developer struggled just to
get our existing sample-track to play mid-sample.
