Sounds like you want MusE to record the tempos arriving from the external KB? It should do that. See the settings in the midi sync dialog for filtering etc. I put a lot of work into it and testing this tempo recording feature. After recording, a box should pop up informing you that some external tempos were recorded and ask you whether you want to keep them or not (because the tempos /could/ end up being quite a *lot* of data). Possibly only while recording though, can't remember if playback does it, I think not. If no box pops up, it didn't get anything. Try again in record mode.
