Mind the new strip 'monitor' buttons which flash when active. This new monitoring feature allows midi to be heard WITHOUT hitting rec-arm ! That's probably what's happening.
Unfortunately, with MusE automatically (by default) routing ALL input devices to all tracks, this means all tracks will pass midi events even without being rec-armed, if the 'monitor' button is active. I am thinking more and more that now this automatic routing of all input devices by default is now a mistake, and I think I will restrict it to just one device, or none at all. Or... alternatively, monitoring will be OFF by default for midi tracks. (But I really didn't want to do that, I want new users to hear... something at least, at first). USERS BEWARE: There is a nasty problem with Jack 'midi through' ports, where MusE cannot distinguish them from normal ports and thus they get included with all other input device routing automatically. This is bad because then there is 'midi feedback' from the midi through output back to the input and it causes nasty recursive 'stuck in a loop' behaviour in MusE. I strongly recommend removing, or disabling (in the midi config dialog - the little green dots) these Jack midi through ports. It is another reason why automatic connections were... a good idea but bad in this case. With ALSA we CAN distinguish these 'through' ports and you'll notice that they are disabled by default in the midi config dialog. Tim. > >> PS: I got your song.
