Robert, when I create a new project from template and save it, things are okay. And I certainly had my share of muse crashes.
However, I found a number of oddities. == project file not rearranged == When I open an older project, the project file is not rearranged. The project should move to the top of the list, but it doesn't. Consequently, when I start muse again, I don't get this older project, despite my global setting "start with last song". It doesn't matter if I open this project via "open" or "open recent". == opening project may crash muse == For some reason I get TONS of libInstPatch warnings like SOUNDFONT FILENAME + PATH /music/sf/GeneralUser GS 1.44 FluidSynth/GeneralUser GS FluidSynth v1.44.sf2 (muse3:30560): libInstPatch-WARNING **: Invalid loop for sample 'Power Snare 2' (muse3:30560): libInstPatch-WARNING **: Invalid loop for sample 'Xylophone-C7' JACK: buffersize changed 256 INFO: Requested timer frequency:1024 actual:1024 (muse3:30560): libInstPatch-WARNING **: Duplicate stereo link to sample 'Gun' from 'Orchcrash(R)' It takes a while until this complaining comes to an end. If I open a project while this is still going on, muse crashes. == Frugal "Save file" dialog == This is probably not a muse problem at all, but owed to qt. When I start a project from template and I want to save it, I may want to choose a new directory. In the dialog "Select a project directory" the pull-down "Look in" shows the directoy of my last song (/music/2017-Aquilles) - good. Other entrties in that menu are "/music" and "/", but they are greyed out, though /music is owned by me an I have rwx permissions there. To the left of the dialog, there are two names, which look like bookmarks, namely "martin" with a tooltip of "/home/martin" and "Scores" with a tooltip of "/home/martin/Documents/MuseScore2/Scores". Both are greyed out. (a) I don't understand why so much of the pulldown is greyed out (b) I don't understand where these "bookmarks" come from and why they are greyed out. I should mention, that my X-session is not a kde or gnome session, but a bit off the beaten track and just started from a ".xsession" file, in case this matters.
