Hi all, We organized Ubuntu presentation in Center of Culture Magacin in Belgrade two days ago. First idea was to organize Release Party, but we didn't fit in schedule of Centar of Culture Magacin, so we booked it for 15th December. Unfortunetly in last minute we were moved to underground space of the Center, and we even didn't have chairs for our public. Beside that, the atmosphere was good and comments from our forum are very positive.
We talked about Free Software, basics of Ubuntu, LoCo Serbia activities and software packages for common use. Headings was: 1. Free Software, GNU/Linux, Ubuntu - presented by dootzky 2. Activities of LoCo Serbia - petrovicivan 3. GNOME, KDE, XFCE - Githzerai 4. Graphics and Video - Rainmaker 5. Audio and Office - bojce 6. Wine - vlajkoral 7. CompizFusion - olujicz 8. Games - dootzky Local retailer List Solution (official Ubuntu partner) gave us 3 preinstalled-Ubuntu-computers for presentation. We made by ourselves 100 Ubuntu CDs, about 20 DVDs, over 800 stickers, 15 Ubuntu key fobs (almost everything run away). We also made 35 t-shirts for moderators, which were a sample print before the larger order for the whole LoCo Community. Lot of people asked for the t-shirts, and we hardly explaned that there were no t-shirts for sale. :) There were about 50 visitors, and many of them are non-linux users. In my opinion, key point of this presentation is the fact that whole job was done by rookie members (including me). Mature members, founders of Ubuntu LoCo Serbia, are currently involved in other FSN projects like Fedora Community, Gnuzilla magazine and anti-OOXML campagne.
