It strikes me that it would also be useful to be able to configure renderers individually with the configuration files, too. For instance, I might define some kind of AccountingEvent, and log that using an AccountingEventRenderer. If that renderer could be configured to only display the desired fields, it would be great. I could use my own layout for this, but I don't think that would be as helpful, as by configuring the renderer itself I can use any other layout I like. I'm willing to help implement this if anyone's interested.
