Hi Mike, Kevin,
I am seriously considering the creation a top-level Apache project
focused on logging. This project would be located at
logging.apache.org and would group some or many of the log4X projects
out there.
This would make it easier for us to consult each other. One of my
dreams -- a heretic dream -- has been to be able to log across
language boundaries. One of the stated goals of logging@Apache would
be cross-language logging. For example, you log in one language but
read another, as in write in log4Perl and read in log4j or vice
versa. Another variant is to use a remote appender written in another
language...
Would you be interested to join logging.apache.org and make it
happen?
Best regards,
