That sounds like the right thing to do -- right now it's difficult to
locate the different incarnations of log4X and to determine their
maturity. What's the status of log4j for C++? Do they have a mailing list?
A stable build? I have no idea. Having a central location for all of them
makes a lot of sense.

Kevin and I consulted with each other on this one and it turned out we're
both not exactly sure what you mean. Sure, you can write your program in
one language, issue the log statements there and have log4X forward them
(via XMLRPC or SOAP as Kevin suggested) to remote appenders, maybe written
in different languages. Is that what you're intending? Would be great if
you could elaborate a bit on this one.
Having a nicely-written language-independant log4X standard, which all
log4X implementations have to adhere to (as a lowest common denominator),
on the other end, I see as a huge potential benefit.

Yeah, as long as there's no work involved :). But seriously, we're
definitely interested in hooking up with the other log4X folks -- we'd
just need to flesh out the concept a bit.
