Hi, I wrote up a sound appender that can be configured to play a sound whenever a message hits the appender. I've found it to be useful for our development - we just tell it to beep whenever an ERROR event gets logged.
The appender uses javax.sound, which means that it is dependent on jdk 1.3 or better. andy pruitt [EMAIL PROTECTED]
