1.3 - A Line in the Sand

At some point we can no longer ignore the decision about where 1.3 should go.

Firstly, what do people think of this idea?

I am beginning to think that we should scale back 1.3 to be less of the planned revolution and more of a substantial-update-but- completely-backward compatible (to a point). We can then step back and think way beyond 1.3 and come up with a new vision for what we think is important in enterprise logging. Secondly, what do people think is left to do before preparing for a fully supported 1.3 release ? Third, who in the dev community (not just committers) is prepared to provide some effort in this regard.
