Mikael Ståldal commented on LOG4J2-1512:
----------------------------------------

This is about two different kind of exceptions, isn't it?

What I am working on is about throwables reported by the application through
the Logger interface and included in the log event. The ignoreException thing
is about exceptions occuring in appenders when they try to process a log event
(such as IOException).

> GelfLayout have an option {{includeStacktrace}} to make it possible to
> exclude the stacktrace. This is useful since the stacktrace can be very large.
> This could be useful for other layouts as well: JsonLayout, XmlLayout,
> YamlLayout. Maybe CsvLogEventLayout and HtmlLayout?
