Chimbu,

The first few questions that come to mind are:

1. Are there any sort of exceptions thrown in the
servlet container that are related to log4j ?

2. Is there a log4j properties file available in
the CLASSPATH of the servlet container ?

3. If the answer to (2) is YES, then is the logging
turned on for the level that you are looking for ?

Hope that helps,

Raju

Subject: log4j not working when used in servlets

Hi

I am using log4j for logging in classes. I am using
these classes in servlets which are hosted on iPlanet
Webserver 4.1. My problem is that nothing is getting
logged when I access these classes from servlets. when
I try to run theses classe from command prompt, the
log4j is working properly and the messages are getting
logged properly. can anybody tell me why its happening
like this.

regards
chimbu
