The file is deployed by virtue of being in my .ear file.
Not sure what relevance Rational has. Sorry.
Your doctype looks like it application root/some folders/log4j.dtd. I
can try something similar.

Now If you can figure out how to get JSF and log4j to actualy send
logging events to a socketserver I would ask you to marry me.

On vacation. Have a good weekend everyone.

Did you import the file or just drag and drop it in?

That is the way I always thought it worked. Then why does WAS remain
intent on prepending C:\Program Files\WebSphere\AppServer?
Sigh.

I have no issues with putting the xml file in websphere as long as I
ALSO put the doctype (.dtd file) in the same dir as the config file.

All,

This is not a log4j problem per se, but maybe someone has a going
Websphere deployment.

Has anyone successfully deployed Log4j on Websphere? I cannot find the
right solution for the DOCTYPE SYSTEM path. The problem is getting
Websphere to stop prepending a path to the setting. The dtd is located
in the same folder as the xml file that references it. WEB-INF being
that folder.

As an example, the following

<!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">

produces

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program
Files\WebSphere\AppServer\log4j.dtd (The system cannot find the file
specified)

Thanks,
