I've updated the proposal with a spelling fix, added Michael Schmitz
as a developer, and changed the Documentation section from a link to
the pre-Apache documentation to a description of the documentation
development plans. I reviewed Michael Schmitz's SyslogAppender
posting (http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
msg00120.html) expecting to use that to show prior history of
contribution to the project and it mentioned that the enhancement was
done by a colleague ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Submission of a work that is not your original creation is addressed
in section 7 of the CLA. However, it places a pretty serious burden
on the receiving project and should be avoided where possible.
Generally, it is better to solicit the original author to resubmit
the contribution. That said, it raises a couple of issues:
Is Roberto a potential contributor or committer?
Has tietonator.com assigned or may assign employees to work on
Log4PHP enhancements and if so, would the company be willing to
execute a CCLA to clarify the IP issues?
Was Michael anticipating contributing personally or was he planning
on contributing the works of others?
