Actually, "cu" (or alternatively "kei" or "vau") is not elidable there. Without them you get the single sumti: lo nu la .lojban. zenba lo ka ricfu ba [ku] [vau] [kei] jalge [ku] loi nu do pilno [vau][kei] [ku] [kei] [ku] It sometimes seems like tenses can do the job of "cu", but they don't always. mu'o mi'e xorxes
