1. Looking for Volunteers; The Linux Professional Institute was created with the support of the Linux Community in 1999, to build a certification for Linux System Admins. LPI continues to ask the community to participate and help out, and once again is asking for support as we create further items and tasks to develop the LPI exams. Please have a look at the attached details which will help you to help us. We thank you in advance for your assistance. Please read through the following details; http://www.lpi.org/en/news_item/64 https://www.lpi.org/en/examdev/index.html https://www.lpi.org/en/examdev/jta/index.html Our thanks to the lead item writers who are heading up this project; Monica Orski John Terpstra Mark Miller Mark Lachniet Tim Writer Justin Davies Vagner Farias 2. Translations; LPI has been translating the Level 1 exams and these will be translated into the following languages; Chinese, Spanish Portuguese French German (At present the exams are available in English and Japanese). We plan to publish these at all Prometric test sites in 'beta' within the next month, and the cost for these new translated exams will be $75 US. The beta period should be completed within 3 months, and then the exams will be republished at the regular rate for all LPI exams. (Please see the LPI website for regular rates.) Please note the beta exams will be valid and _will_ count towards your Level 1 certification, and if - for example- you take exam 101 in English and 102 in French, these will count towards a Level 1 certification. We would like to thank the following community members who assisted us with translations; Enrique Verdes from Uruguay Alvaro Aguilera from Uruguay Bruno Gomes from Brazil Fernando Lauzon from Brazil Yann Forget from France Laurent Crosnier from France Nicolas Ouedraogo from Switzerland Chouanyi Dou from China Ms Li from China 3.
