Linux Professional Institute Offers Certification Exams at São Paulo and Shanghai LinuxWorld Events
(São Paulo, Brazil and Shanghai, China: May 19, 2006) – The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), (http://www.lpi.org), the world's premier Linux certification organization will provide certification testing on two continents on May 24-25, 2006 at LinuxWorld Conference and Expo events in Shanghai, China and São Paulo, Brazil. LPI affiliates in China and Brazil will be hosting these exam testing events, as well as exhibition booths and other conference information sessions. Jim Lacey, President and CEO of LPI, welcomed these initiatives and made note of LPI's recent global initiative: "These simultaneous high profile exam labs on opposite sides of the globe are a testament to the effectiveness of our recent Regional Enablement Initiative: find effective regional partners, provide them with the right tools, and let them lead the adoption of Linux certification in their respective territories." Exams at LinuxWorld Shanghai will be at the Imperial Hall of the Shanghai Hotel Equatorial on May 24, 2006 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Exam candidates will be able to take the LPIC 101 exam free of charge (a $150 US value) if they are paid conference delegates. For those attending the exhibition only there will be a RMB 750 exam fee. Representatives of LPI-China will also host an information booth at the exhibition from May 23 -25, 2006. All those interested in learning more about the LPI certification program are invited to meet with LPI representatives at Booth #10 of the exhibit area. Exams at LinuxWorld São Paulo will be offered on May 24, 2006 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. and on May 25, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Room locations of the exam labs will be announced at LinuxWorld--alternatively exam candidates can inquire of LPI representatives at booth #34 of the Exhibition area as to the room location. Both LPIC 101 and 102 exams will be offered to the conference delegates and to the trade show attendees. As a special promotion, exam candidates who wish to take both the 101 and 102 exam will only have to pay fees for one exam, R$ 170,00. Exam candidates must pre-register on the LPI website at https://www.lpi.org/en/register.html or https://www.lpi.org/pt_br/register.html (Brazilian Portuguese) to receive a LPI identification number and must bring valid photo identification and their LPI ID number to the exam events.
