Linux Professional Institute Appoints Director of Member Services

(Sacramento, CA, USA: December 15, 2011) The Linux Professional
Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization
(http://www.lpi.org), announced the appointment of Ross Brunson as
Director of Member Services for LPI.  Mr. Brunson has over 15 years
experience as a Linux trainer and is author of the popular book "LPIC-1
Exam Cram 2" (QUE Publishing).

"We are pleased to have Ross join our team at LPI and his knowledge of
Linux training, open source technology, and online community development
will be a great asset to us as we develop greater service offerings for
members of the LPI community," said Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI.
  Mr. Lacey added that Mr. Brunson will also be responsible for leading
LPI's social media presence and developing in-house technological
infrastructure solutions for LPI's growing global program.

Ross Brunson most recently served as Social Media Consultant and Linux
Solutions Specialist with Novell (SUSE) where he acted as a solutions
architect on Linux, Virtualization and Integration/Migration.  Past
experience as a trainer and IT courseware developer include the
following: CEO/Principal Trainer with Beacon Inc., Director of
Development with Thomson Learning/Wave Inc., and Senior Instructor or
Lead Trainer with Computer Associates, Mastering Computers/Platinum
Technologies and Learning Tree International.

Brunson holds a variety of IT certifications on a number of in-demand
technologies across a broad range of operating system technologies.  He
is also author of several successful technical books, dozens of
technical courses for major organizations (including the first LPI
Certification Bootcamp) and is skilled at both contributing to and
building community around products. Finally, Ross is a prolific
contributor to case studies, technical marketing blogs, showcases,
technical conferences and industry organizations.

"For many years, as a volunteer, I have participated in LPI's exam
development process and was a member of LPI's Technical Advisory
Council.  As well, I have based my career and business interests in
assisting others to obtain their LPIC certification. I am delighted to
have this new opportunity with LPI and contribute to its community of
Linux professionals," said Ross Brunson.
