Linux Professional Institute offers "beta" Security exams at LinuxWorld Utrecht
(Sacramento, USA: October 30, 2008) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization (http://www.lpi.org), will offer discounted certification exams at LinuxWorld Utrecht, The Netherlands, November 12 - 13, 2008 for their popular LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LPIC-3 certification programs. In addition "beta" exams for the new LPIC-3 "Security" elective will be offered free to participating LPIC alumni interested in assisting with the development of this enterprise-level speciality exam. During LinuxWorld exam labs will be held at "Jaarbeurs Utrecht, Zaal 13" on November 12 -13th at 10:00 a.m. and 14:00 p.m. LPI exams 101, 102, 201, 202, and 302 will be available at 70,- EUR (a 50% discount) and LPI 301 (LPIC-3 Certification exam) will be available at 90,- EUR. All exams are in English. LPI also invites interested Linux professionals to volunteer to write the "beta" exam for the new LPIC-3 "Security" elective (LPI-303) presently under development. These "beta" exams are available free of charge. As with the "beta" exam process during the development of the LPIC-3 certification exam (LPI-301) and the LPIC-3 "Mixed Environment" speciality elective (LPI-302) this volunteer effort will enable LPI to test this new high level "Security" elective exam for quality, accuracy and relevancy. The LPI-303 exam is scheduled for release in February 2009. Similar "beta" exam labs are being planned for events around the world and will involve approximately 200 Linux professionals. LPI also invites Linux professionals and industry representatives to provide input on the Job Task Analysis (JTA) for the LPI-303 "Security" elective https://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamdev/jta . LPI exam candidates must obtain an LPI ID number at https://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamman/register and bring valid photo identification and their LPI ID number to the exam lab.
