Kaushal,

For self-study, we have the "Exam Preparation" tab on the main lpi.org website,
which will list a number of options for you to prepare using a combination of
the Objectives for the target exam, free and for pay resources that exist for
each level (which in Level 3's case is not many and none currently in English,
) and some links to practice exams that you can use to prepare.

For all LPI Certifications and Certificates of Achievement:

The Objectives for all the exams can be found by navigating to the "Linux
Certifications" tab on the main LPI website, where you can and SHOULD drill
down to the target exam you wish to study for, and most people will print out a
copy of those objectives and tick the items off when they have finished
studying for them. (You may notice that we thoughtfully included html
tick-boxes to make this easy, just print the objectives out, tape them up on
the wall next to your study workstation and check them off when done.)

NEVER, EVER just use a book you bought, or a course you buy or take anyone's
word about what is on the exams. They change over time, books and courses and
printed materials, (as well as some people's opinions about the exam contents)
don't change, they just keep on being available and using an out-dated resource
to prepare for the next level of exam is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Always refer to the exam objectives as THE authoritative resource, and when it
comes down the LPI website versus the LPI Wiki, the WIKI always wins.

For Linux Essentials:

I highly recommend two resources, one for pay, one for free. I recommend going
to the LPIMarketplace.com and looking at the Wiley/Sybex book "Linux
Essentials" by Rod Smith, it's about the same price on the Marketplace as it is
on Amazon.com. I also highly recommend clicking on the below link to get a
copy of Anselm's organization's "Linux Essentials" PDF, which is free for
non-commercial use.

https://www.lpi.org/exam-preparation/self-study (Look at the links for
Linupfront at the bottom of the page, pick the language you want and enjoy!)

For LPIC-1:

I am unaware of any free resources of note for the LPIC-1 exams, but there
exists a number of valid resources for low-cost and higher, just visit the LPI
Marketplace and look for the LPIC-1 titles. There are the Wiley/Sybex book,
the McGraw-Hill LPIC-1 book and uCertify's excellent Learning Management
System-driven subscription courses that are based on the Wiley/Sybex content.

For LPIC-2:

This set of exams has recently undergone a relatively major revision, and the
only book that is close is the Wiley/Sybex LPIC-2 book, although I hear from
Anselm that Linupfront will be doing an English translation of their updated
content fairly soon.

The other option for this set of exams, and the only resource currently updated
to the recent revisions is the Snow B.V. content, which is located at the link
below:

I hope this is all helpful, and gets you started solidly on your career with
LPI.

Thanks for all the great questions and stimulants to thoughtful conversation,
we as a community love to help, and especially if you've done some research
beforehand!

Ross
