Hi there,
Thanks, Sergio, for starting this thread, and thank you, Matt, for
bringing this up. To be honest, I hadn't paid enough attention to what
the LPI membership was.
Even though I've been a Linux user/admin for more than 20 years, it
wasn't until 5 years ago that I got my first certs, LPIC-1 and LPIC-2.
They helped me land a job as an OSS instructor for a well-known Linux
organization, and I couldn't be more grateful.
My LPIC-2 will expire in less than 4 months and it's time I think about
how to maintain it, and at the same time, it is a great opportunity to
give something back to the community.
It seems like the LPI Membership is a great choice, but I still don't
fully understand how the PDUs are evaluated, whether it'd be in a
retroactive way, or only actions performed after the membership starts
do count, which 3rd party certifications would count for it, etc.
What would be the most suitable next step to clarify these doubts?
Thank you in advance!
May I suggested you to get LPIC-3? You have experience more than enough and
will get recertified for more 5 years.
Kind regards,
Vicente J. Jiménez Miras

Hi Sergio,
Yes, this version will be available all year.
Also, if you're solely interested in maintaining your
certification's active date, membership is an option:

and would cost less than retaking exams.
Take care,

Hi,
I'd like to renew my certs this year. I'd want to know if
current objectives (as in

will be valid during 2022.
Thanks in advance
