Please stay with a MTA, because it's needed to send e-mail from the command line and provides
insights into an important Linux services. Please stay with postfix, just to mix not up to much
topics with the new release. For exam takers it does not matter which MTA is covered, to get
insights in mail handling.
* How should we tackle nftables? The way it is right now or is there a better approach?

Keep iptables but open the way to nft in future objective releases. At least by nft with awareness level
or some basic commands e.g. nft list tables
as well as firewall-cmd basics
