I don't think you'll have to get too Environment specific, beyond perhaps
looking at issues about what is different. Both use standard .{x,X}* files
which can be tested on. This line is key "to demonstrate an understanding
of customization procedures for window manager menus and/or desktop panel
menus.". You should be able to demonstrate this pretty easily using either
KDE or Gnome to apply real world application, but not actually testing
specifics on either environment.

The rest of the objective also has no difference between environments.
BTW, the following sentence needs capitalized in that objective :)
