Well, you can get certified and still blow the entire package management
section.  

Remember, the certification isn't there to show that the person knows
_everything_ Linux.  It's there to show that they have a minimum capability
and general knowledge (of the things that they didn't get right).

It kid of reminds me of that age old question, "What do you call the student
that finishes in last place at medical school?" [1]
