Well, if we hadn't covered 'ssh -X' (really, ssh client use) in LPIC-1 and
sshd (and other fun) in LPIC-2, then it wouldn't be inappropriate to add it
to this exam.

However, I'm trying to avoid what happened a few years ago between LPIC-1 and
LPIC-2. Namely, redundant coverage of topics. These certs build on each
other so, unless there is more detailed coverage of a topic, there shouldn't
be a lot of over lap.

This is why I was asking specifically about vnc/rdesktop and not ssh. I
think that ssh is covered enough with the new objectives.

Now, to address Sander's comment :)

I actually made the statement this week that, in some respects, I think that
it is easier to pass an LPIC-3 exam than it is the LPIC-2. My reasoning is
that, where LPIC-2 covers a lot of different technologies and it is difficult
for people to know when they know enough about each technology, LPIC-3 exams
only cover a couple to a few technologies and you can't learn too much about
it.

So, am I out to lunch with that comment or does it have some validity? To
me, it amounts to the fact that we can test some "easy" stuff if it is
appropriate to the goals of the exam/cert.

Regards,
