We have 1 HP8100 laser printer. The printer normally works good.

Sometimes print jobs stay in stalled mode (some minutes...)...
If I check then the status file, I can see, that
often the printer dosn't give the pagecounter back after the
job ended

97 percent done at 10:36:10.473
100 percent done at 10:36:10.674
finished writing file, cleaning up at 10:36:10.674
sent job file at 10:36:10.674
doing cleanup at 10:36:10.674
getting end using 'job' at 10:36:10.708
getting pagecount using 'pjl' at 10:37:02.926
final pagecount 596004 at 10:40:52.075
accounting at end, pagecount 596004, pages 56 at 10:40:52.076
At the given job the printer gave the final pagecounter 4 minutes
after the "getting pagecount"-request
???
What did the printer do (count) in 4 minutes ???
There are also cases, that we have to restart the queue-server,
because we don't get a answer of the pagecount-request.
What can I do to decrement the answer-time of the requests?
Can I define timeouts for requests or can I repeat the requests
after defined timeout intervals ???
With "older" printers like HPIIISi or HPIVSi I have analog problems:
also : stalling, if waits for answer to "getting pagecount"
and: stalling, if waits for answer to "getting end"
For this queues I have changed the filtering to "pagecount@"....
Now it works better... jobs come only 2,3 times per day in the
stalling mode...
???
