Do you know about the 3COM Linux driver bug on 3C905s?
I look after a Linux network that suffered from all sorts of wierd
behaviour, truncated NFS files and hanging print queues. It turns
out that there is a bug in the 3C905 drivers from 3COM that can
cause the card to hang for up to 2 minutes; it is incorprated in
most Linux distributions ;-(. There is a patch that works called
3c90x-1.0.0i.tar that I think I got from 3COM site, but it only
works with certain kernals.
This patch restored a lot of sanity to my network.
If you want further details I think I can dig them out.
                        Regards.
                                G.
