OK, I have put up a new (and kinda nasty) option into LPRng.

If you make the -Dxxx option the FIRST on the command line,
the LPRng stuff now does option decoding VERY early in the
processing stream.  You get a LOT of &*())(* out,  but you get
details as well.

Alf,  please do the following:

a) get the LPRng-3.6.16 version
b) set up a printcap entry
   dummy:
     :oh=somestuff that you had before
     :lp=pr@dummy

c) run:  lpq -Ddatabase+2 -Pdummy

send me the error listing from the command.
