I hope you will all pardon my ignorance, but I am still unsuccessful
in my tabloid attempts. After re-reading the ifhp HOWTO (thanks
Patrick) I realized that without the lpd_bounce option I wasn't even
filtering through ifhp. My printcap entry looks like:

xerox:
        :lpd_bounce
        :rp=xjprint
        :rm=my.printer.ip.address
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
        :ifhp=model=hp4mplus,status@
        :filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp

I stuck with the default model since this printer is supposed to
understand PJL, PCL and PS. From looking at ifhp.conf, it seems that
the standard options like -Zledger or -Zsource=tray3, etc. should
work (?) Every print attempt prints on letter paper from tray 1. I
have this feeling I'm missing something obvious.

It would of course help if the company wanting to sell us the printer
could even spell 'unix' :)

Thanks again for your help.

Dave
