OK, first I need to thank Patrick for his help and willingness to
spend time helping me with this printer. I tried what he suggested in
printing directly to the print queue:
lpr [EMAIL PROTECTED] <text-file> -> produced stairs
lpr [EMAIL PROTECTED] <postscript-file> -> produced image, not text
I assume this means I could use this as a raw device (?), but I don't
think it is needed (since the next thing also worked). To try tabloid
printing (11x17) I added the following to my printer description (lines
may wrap):
ps_tabloid=<< /PageSize [792 1224] /MediaType (null)
/InputAttributes << 0 << /PageSize [792 1224] /MediaType (null) >> >> >>
setpagedevice
ps_user_opts += [ tabloid ]
and it worked! :) Using this basic syntax, I should be able to play with
all kinds of options on this printer. Now if I can get all the
filters working ...
Thanks again,
Dave
