Thanks very much for detailed answer (also for my other posts). I have had
problem rather with older Solaris 2.5.x machines, they have no
/etc/printer.conf files at all (it is a stock configuration or it was
changed during instalation of hpnp software from HP by the previous admin).
As I wrote before we decided finally to install the LPRng system on these
machines and now all seems to work very well.

The LPRng is very well documented, but as usual there is no much time to
read all the manuals and documents :-).

with:                           | example:
