Hello,
I'm using lprng 3.6.12 to queue print jobs that are ultimately
sent to a few Lantronix LPS1 print servers attached HP LaserJet
2100 priners. These boxes have very little RAM, so the have to
try to cope with larger print jobs by pretending to be
vveeeerrrryyyy slow. The problem now is that when a user sends a
largish job to one of those printers (8 pages is the limit for
him) via the corresponding Samba printer share, everything locks
up (file shares as well as printer shares). The print job prints
ok, but the user has to reboot his machine to continue working.
This does not happen with some other printer, e.g. a HP Color-
Laser with its own internal network card. Users can live with the
fact they have to reboot every once in a while because Windows
goofs, from Linux they expect something else ;-)
Questions:
1. Would the current release fix the problem?
2. Are there any migration issues I should be aware of?
Mit herzlichem Gruss
Andreas Mueller
