Hi. I'm using LPRng-3.6.25 and ifhp-3.4.1 under FreeBSD-4-stable, with
a Color Laserjet 4500 DN (HP).
Using a printcap similar to the one previously recommended by Patrick

everything works well, except for the first job of the day. The
printer goes into power saving mode overnight, and it takes a long
time to warm up. While it's warming up, it sends the correct status
code, but ifhp (or is it lpd?) continually retries the job, resulting
in (usually) three copies being printed. After that, the system works
correctly, until the printer goes back into power saving mode.
Turning off status
:ifhp=model=hp4500,status@
does fix this behavior, but that seems heavy handed. I suspect that
there is a specific timeout that could be tweeked. Am I right? Anyone
know what that is, and where to set it?
