The market for "cheap" printers is DOS/Windoze. These markets
insist that the end-of-line for text files is CRLF by default.
If you use a cheap printer, and your file is text, you can do
one of two things:
1) you can translate CR, LF, or RS into CRLF to satisfy
the printers model of end-of-line.
2) you can tell the printer (possibly via an escape sequence),
that the end-of-line is ........ Most magicfilters I
am aware of, take this second approach. You prepend an
escape sequence to change EOL, and then you append a reset.
The only machine which needs to know this, is the one which
actually feeds the machine.
