hi,

this is the client printcap is it ?

try something simple like:

<printername>:\
        :lp=<remote_printer>@<printserver>:\
        :sd=<path_of_your_spooldirectory_on_local_machine>:\
        :mx#0:

You don't need to mention the filter on the client as it won't get used
there anyway, the filtering should take place on the server...

the server entry should look something like (for other configurations
look in the IFHP manual):

<printername> :\
        :sd=<your_spooldirectory>:\
        :lp=<printer>%<port_on_printer(9100_most_of_the_times)>:\
        :lf=<path_to_logfile>:\

:bp=<path_to_banner_filter_for_ex:_/usr/libexec/filters/psbanner>:\

:ifhp=model=<your_printer_model_from_ifhp.conf_fore_ex:_hp4000>:\

:filter=<path_to_ifhp_filter_for_ex:_/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp>:\
        :mx#0:\
        :du#16:\
        :

This works quite ok on my solaris systems. If you still don't get your
-Z options, stop the queue and look at the controlfile:

[printsrv4] ~lp/request/testp5 # cat cfA436printsrv4.desy.de
Aroot@printsrv4+436
CA
D2000-12-20-10:49:08
Hprintsrv4.desy.de
J(stdin)
Lroot
Proot
Qtestp5
Zlandscape
N(stdin)
fdfA436printsrv4.desy.de
UdfA436printsrv4.desy.de

If you don't find the 'Z' entry in the controlfile you have a problem on
the client, if the entry is ok the problem is probably on the spooler...

don't forget to restart the daemon (lpc reread) before testing...

Cheers Christoph
