Hi all, Today I switched over our 50+ Solaris hosts from Sun lp to LPRng. However, after doing so, I noticed that printing from dtmail (the mailer that comes with CDE) didn't work - all printing from the command line seems fine. After some searching on the web, I discovered the attached message from 1998 - does anyone know if the situation described here is still the case? Our current situation is that Sun's lp is still installed on each machine, but LPRng is installed centrally and made available through automounting (and is the new default, by virtue of being ahead of the Sun binaries in the path) - there seem to be no problems with using LPRng with Sun binaries still in place. I will be removing all the Sun lp packages from each host in due course and linking, e.g. /usr/bin/lp to /usr/local/bin/lp (the lprng one) and so on, but would like to keep them there for the moment so I can swap back quickly should problems arise. I am a little concerned about this CDE issue however as we have a large number of CDE users. Has anyone else come across a similar situation involving using LPRng under Solaris and particularly using CDE? If so, I'd be interested to know what path you followed when swapping over. Many thanks in advance for any advice.
