I've got a problem here on our print server (Solaris 7/X86, LPRng 3.7.4, gdbm
1.8.0)...if there are too many jobs in the print queue for a particular
printer, that particular spool queue will lock up reporting an error of not
being able to open "db.<queuename>".
>From the queue logs:
2001-01-30-13:51:15.850 hobbes [20700] (Server) sa: Open_gdbm: gdbm_lock fd 26
2001-01-30-13:51:15.851 hobbes [20700] (Server) sa: Open_gdbm: locking 26
2001-01-30-13:51:18.542 hobbes [20700] (Server) sa: setstatus: msg 'sa:
Open_dg
bm: open of DB file 'db.sa' failed, File open error'
2001-01-30-13:51:18.544 hobbes [20700] (Server) (ERR) sa: Open_dgbm: open of
DB
file 'db.sa' failed, File open error
2001-01-30-13:51:18.545 hobbes [20700] (Server) sa: cleanup: done, exit(33)
Today's failure happened with >150 jobs in the queue. I've seen similar
problems on a server that had closer to 20 or 30 jobs backed up.
Has anyone else seen this or know of a fix?
