I'm trying to get an DJ 2500CP working on our network. I'm not concerned
about printer accounting or much of anything beyond delivering the job and
getting out of the way.
The problem is, lpd with send the job and, long after the plotter has
delivered output, the job remains stalled in the queue. Stalled,
actually, until I lprm it.
I'd like to send the job, wait for it to end, then write an entry to a log
file. Nothing fancier than that. So, here's the lpd_printcap entry:
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
:lp=plotter.owlnet.rice.edu%9100
:sh
:ifhp=model=hpdj2500cp
:filter=/usr/site/ifhp/libexec/filters/ifhp
:if=/usr/site/ifhp/libexec/filters/ifhp
:of=/usr/site/ifhp/libexec/filters/ofhp
:vf=/usrt/site/ifhp/libexec/filters/ifhp -c
:ae=|/usr/site/mdriver/bin/plottacct.pl
:la@
The 'ae' simply writes username/date/time to a log file, nothing more.
Where am I going wrong? Anyone have an example printcap entry for a
2500CP?
Thanks!
