Hi,
I posted this before, but did not get any response. I really need to
solve this. I have my client printcap path pointing to a script. This
script returns following output for any printer pr
pr|printer pr:rp=zoo.research.bell-labs.com
In case where printer name is 'all' the script returns following output
all:all=pr,pr2:
When I run lpq -Ppr, I get the correct output. The lpq program talks to
zoo.research.bell-labs.com and gives me the correct output.
But when I use lpq -Pall, then lpq tries to connect to lpd server on
localhost instead of zoo.research.bell-labs.com. I have set the flag
force_localhost to off.
I also tried tweking the printcap script to return for all also an
output like the following
all|printer all:rp=zoo.research.bell-labs.com:
In this case lpq connects to zoo but I don't get any output on the
console.
I tried running strace on lpq, I see that it is talking to zoo and
reading all printer status (IN my case there are 90 printers, so it is a
long list). but then it does not print anything on the screen. With
LPRNg version 3.6.12, I had no problem.
Thanks in advance for any help/pointers.
