using LPRng-3.6.26 and ifhp-3.4.1 printing to hp4500c using appsocket I have the hp using my syslog to catch messages it want to log. We have been getting spurious eio errors on this machine. Now, when we send a job to the printer we get the following in the syslog printer: connection with "ourlpdserver" aborted due to foreign side aborted. However lpq -llll -Php45 tells us .. .. status: opening device hp45%9100 at 16:00 status: printing job 'iddwb@...' status: processing 'da.....', size 80126, format 'f' IF filter 'none - passthrough' status: printing finished .. status: finished 'iddwb@..',status 'JSUCC'.. status: subserver pid 21670 exit status 'JSUCC' ... Is my lpd server croaking? Or is the jetdirect interface screwed up?
