Hello,
I have an Lexmark Optra S2455 attatched to the parallel port of a PC server;
I am unable to read status information from the printer;
The printcap entry is
lex0:\
:force_localhost :\
:server :\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lex0 :\
:mx#0 :\
:sh :\
:rw :\
:lp=/dev/lp0: \
:filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp :\
:ifhp=model=ps
I have also tried
:ifhp=model=lexmark_optra_e312
and
:ifhp=model=lexmark4039
None of them works; the "parallel" line below the "busy" line
on the panel blinks fast, the printer makes noise but nothing happens.
Only if I put status@, or if I erase the filter and ifhp lines,
the printer works.
Anybody with experience on these printers would be so kind to help?
I also have an OptraColor 45, from which I expect similar problems...
