I've got text print jobs coming from a IBM mainframe
to Redhat Linux 7.0 box that I want to print in
landscape mode, 132 columns, 66 rows.

Installed on the box are LPRng 3.7.4 and ifhp 3.4.4,
as well as a2ps, ghostscript etc. Most of the
printers on the network are various HP Laserjets with
JetDirect cards installed.

What I'm trying to do and haven't been able to figure
out is how to filter the job or put lines into the
printcap to take the incoming text file and print it
landscape, 132 columns, 66 rows. I tried putting
append_z=landscape into the printcap and got landscape
output put can't figure out how to get the 132
columns.

I also tried editing the /etc/ifhp.conf file to change
the a2ps options but had no luck with that. Here is
the printcap entry that I'm using right now for one of
the printers:

laser3|Printer1 auto:\
        :rm=laser3.ssd.ray.com:\
        :rp=raw:\
        :ifhp=model=hp5simx:\
        :filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/imslaser3:\
        :lf=/var/spool/lpd/imslaser3/log:\
        :af=/var/spool/lpd/imslaser3/acct:\
        :mx#0:

What I'd really like is 2 printcap entries for each
printer. 1 entry like the above that is normal and the
user can give all the options on the command line.
The other entry would be where the user just sends the
file from the IBM mainframe and the printcap entry
handles putting the file in landscape. Can anyone
help?

Thanks,

Paul Pompetti
