I'm looking for a solution to the problem found below because of user
complaints. Can anyone help me out here?

I notice that the new "lp" seems to automatically wrap long lines, unlike
the old "lp". This might be a good thing. But, this interferes with the
behavior of "pr". For example, I often print multipage files like this:
pr long_file | lp
The "pr" command will put a banner with the file name, page number, etc. at
the top of each page. But if the "long_file" contains long lines (lines
with more than 72 characters, then lp will spread that line over more than
one line on the printed page.) But, after that the banners and page breaks
that "pr" has embedded will no longer be printed in the correct places.
This problem gets worse as the number of long lines in the files increases.
Do you have a work around for this?
