hi,
similar problems can be tracked down extrem easily by using the powerful
lpq -L fature:
Filter_status: setting up printer at 09:19:40.245
Filter_status: getting sync using 'pjl echo' at 09:19:40.245
Filter_status: sync done at 09:19:42.079
Filter_status: pagecounter 32642 after 1 attempts at 09:19:42.080
Filter_status: pagecounter 32642 at 09:19:42.080
Filter_status: sending job file at 09:19:42.081
Filter_status: starting transfer at 09:19:42.081
Filter_status: file program = '/usr/bin/file -' at 09:19:42.081
Filter_status: started FILE_UTIL- 'file' at 09:19:42.085
Filter_status: file information = 'bennet_yee's_"face"_format' at
09:19:42.155
Filter_status: initial job type 'bennet_yee's_"face"_format' at
09:19:42.155
Filter_status: decoded job type 'bennet_yee's_"face"_format' at
09:19:42.156
Filter_status: cannot process language 'bennet_yee's_"face"_format' at
09:19:42.156
Filter_status: sent job file at 09:19:42.156
Filter_status: getting end using 'pjl job/eoj' at 09:19:42.157
Filter_status: end of job detected at 09:19:44.429
Filter_status: pagecounter 32642 after 1 attempts at 09:19:46.079
Filter_status: pagecounter 32642, pages 0 at 09:19:46.080
Filter_status: done at 09:19:46.080
if you print thse files more often, you can solve the problem by putting
a line in the global file_output_match:
*bennet_yee's_"face"_format* ps \%s{ps_converter}

P.S.: the flashing lights on the printer were probably the pagecount pjl
strings
