First, it may be a Samba issue. Go in with swat, choose Globals, and look for section Printing Options. Under this should be a box for "printing", with a pull-down list. Make sure it says "lprng" (assuming that's what you're using, since you're posting to this list).
Second, assuming that's OK, it may be that your rev of LPRng is not putting out queue information in the form samba is expecting. You can at least see something about what command is generating information if you use the Advanced View to look at that same Printing Options section. In our case, the lpq command (which I assume is the relevant one) is: lpq -P%p ... and we can see jobs in the queues from Windows. We're running a fairly old version of LPRng, though, and I know Patrick has been playing a bit with the lpq output. That's why I say it's at least possible that it could be an LPRng issue.
