Here are the files:
config.log log file for LPRng configuration script
LPRng.6 local LPRng installation log
that you requested. This is in reference to print jobs hanging on Tru64
Unix 5.1a (jobs are queued, handed to filter but never actually reach the
network).
To reiterate what we think happened:
- LPRng 3.8.1 installed in Nov 2001
- LPRng stopped working late Dec 2001
- much mucking about, then remembering LDAP tools were installed on
TU64 server about the time that LPRng quit working
- LDAP tools removed
- LPRng still didn't work, more mucking about
- OS re-installed, LPRng starts working, xfs quits working
We think that there is some instability in the TU64 5.1a network stack.
We have an open software support call with Compaq on the xfs issue.
Thanks for going over all of this with me this morning, and thanks for
your comments and suggestions!
