OK, Patrick, I took your suggestion. At first I had trouble because the
!@#$% bug wouldn't manifest itself no matter how many times I reran it.
But later on it happened again. Moreover, I got it to happen with
lpc -D1. I then tried lpc flush, and the message remains unchanged.
I tried both "lpc msg testlprtr" and "lpc msg testlprtr ''" (as you'll see).

Again, any help is appreciated.

I'm appending output (I added linefeeds before commands for
readability) & then your response, after the sig. I hope the debug out
put may say something to you - it doesn't to me.

This is RedHat 7.2,
LPRng-3.7.4, Kerberos5, Copyright 1988-2000 Patrick Powell, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
(which came with the OS), for whatever that's worth.

Thanks again.

YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST
The address you post from MUST be your subscription address

If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests
or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. For the impatient,
to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with: | example:
subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED]
unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word
LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line.
