Describe your printing set up. For example, I am confused when you say you are using the ljet4 driver since windows will nicely format these documents for you before they are sent to the print server. Why aren't you sending these jobs to a raw print queue?
Post your printcap file. Tell us about your print filter. Not using apsfilter isn't much information. Does this problem occur when you print from your Suse server, or just when clients PC print through samba? This problem might be on the client side or the server side.
