What do you mean no one can solve it?!
Well, this took me half a day to figure out on a 7.3 system...
it was a Thursday; OK?
Wasted most of the time in a futile search for answers on the www
and was finally forced to use my own brain to figure it out:
Do you have files like /etc/apsfilterrc.y2prn_* ??
Make sure that
PRINT_RAW_SUPPRESS_FORMFEED="yes"
is not commented in them. It's save to edit the file and remove the
comment char.
SuSE does that by default when you use Yast2 to config printers. It
doesn't tell you it's using apsfilter...
P.S.: Don't tell anybody on the SuSE list.
It'd wreck a perfect score as far as I can tell. >;-)
