Strangely, though, we never saw it until we switched to LPRng. > We have had some success setting the AutoCont option to on. Sending the following PJL > command should do the trick > > 2345X@PJL > @PJL DEFAULT AUTOCONT=ON > 2345X I wasn't sure exactly where to put that command so I tried various combinations and once it did print without error but an exact repeat failed. (It's like that - every now and then it works but it's not reproducible). > There is more discussion on the 40 EIO (bad transmission) errors here: > >http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x514a1aca6930d611abd50090277a778c,00.html There's a post there from someone running samba on a RH 7.3 box (same setup as us) who fixed their problem by switching to cups. I tried that. With cups none of the test page prints (with LPRng part of it was printing). But if I strip out the PJL wrapper and just send the postscript it prints fine (6 times out of 6 and no error message). --- Ian ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body.
